About Neutrino Day
Neutrino Day is Sanford Underground Research Facility's signature event and a destination for curious minds of all ages. Each year, on the second Saturday of July, this free science festival takes over the city of Lead, South Dakota.
On July 8, 2023, SURF is celebrating the 15th annual Neutrino Day!
Throughout the day, attendees will find all their Neutrino Day favorites and discover new experiences, activities and speakers.
Join us for hoistroom tours, science activities and exhibits for all ages, live video chats with scientists underground at SURF, and engaging talks about the research happening beneath your feet. You won’t want to miss a tour of the Yates Hoistroom or hands-on activities with the Little Shop of Physics!
Neutrino Day takes place at locations across Lead, including the Sanford Lab Homestake Visitor Center, the Sanford Underground Research Facility Yates Hoistroom, the Handley Recreation Center, the Hampton Inn, the Lead-Deadwood Arts Center, and the Historic Homestake Opera House.
Start your day at the Visitor Center, then take shuttles to other locations throughout Lead.
